65 12 071 Removing and installing or replacing amplifier (Cooper Convertible)

Preliminary work needed:

Disconnect cable from BATTERY GROUND LEAD.
Open LOADING AID

Removal:

Remove the flap (1).

Release expanding rivet (2).

Shift the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (3) on the left to one side.

Slacken nut (1).

Release nuts at marked points.

Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).

Feed out amplifier (3) with holder.

Replacement:

Remove screw (1).

Remove the amplifier (2) from the holder (3) in the direction of the arrow.

NOTE: Lugs (1) must be correctly slid into guide (2).

Check that amplifier (3) is securely seated.

Installation:

Feed in amplifier (2) and position correctly.

Tighten the nuts at the marked points.

Attach and lock connector (1).

Correctly position the left luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (3).

Fasten the expanding rivet (2).

Install the flap (1).

Required reworking:

Connect BATTERY GROUND LEAD.
Close the LOADING AID

Replacement:

Carry out PROGRAMMING/CODING for Harman Kardon equipment specification.
