Remove and install (replace) telematics control module (Cooper Convertible )

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2021 MINI Cooper, 2020 MINI Cooper, 2019 MINI Cooper, 2018 MINI Cooper, and 2017 MINI Cooper. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Preliminary work needed:

Remove GLOVE COMPARTMENT .

Removal:

Release detents and pull telematics control module (1) out of holder (2).

Disconnect connector (1).

Remove telematics control module (2).

Installation:

Connect plug (1) with telematics control module (2).

Slide telematics control module (1) into holder (2).

NOTE: When replacing the telematics control module check whether the faulty telematics control module is equipped with an emergency battery:

if no, then the new part is installed without an EMERGENCY BATTERY !
If yes, ten the new parts is to be equipped with a new emergency battery (separate order, telematics control module is shipped without an emergency battery!)

Required follow-up work:

Install GLOVE COMPARTMENT .

Replacement:

Carry out PROGRAMMING/CODING .
