Removing/replacing gear sensor

Preliminary work needed:

Remove FRONT ASSEMBLY UNDERSIDE PROTECTION .
Remove THRUST FIELD .

Removal:

Disconnect plug connection (2) of gear sensor.

Release screws (1) and remove gear sensor.

Installation:

Install gear sensor and tighten screws (1).

Tightening torque 23 14 1AZ .

Engage plug connection (2) of gear sensor.

Required follow-up work:

Install THRUST FIELD .
Install FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .

IMPORTANT: After installing the gear sensor, it is necessary to teach in the position of the gear sensor again.
Perform "Teach in gear sensor" service function using BMW diagnostic system!
