Replacing compressor for air conditioning (Cooper base)

Special tools required: 

WARNING: Injury hazard! 

Refrigerant circuit is under high!

Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigerant oil.

Read and comply with safety instructions: 

Attention! 

Risk of damage! 

Restart engine only when air conditioning has been correctly filled.

Read and comply with NOTES  on compressor replacement!.

Follow INSTRUCTIONS  for opening and replacing parts in refrigerant circuit.

If Air conditioning is opened for more than 24 h: 

Replace DESICCANT INSERT  for heating and air conditioning system.

Preliminary work needed: 

On version with brake ventilation duct: 

Removal: 

Attention! 

Seal openings or lines on compressor with special tool 32 1 270 to prevent leakage of media and dirt contamination.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unscrew the screws (2).

Remove refrigerant lines (3).

NOTE: Secure compressor (2) against falling out.

Unscrew the screws (1).

Feed out compressor (2).

For replacement: 

Attention! 

Danger of compressor damage! 

Danger of customer complaints due to reduced cooling power of the Air conditioning! 

Before the installation of the new compressor, it is absolutely necessary to adjust the coolant oil level in the new compressor! 

Read and comply with the SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS .

Installation: 

Position compressor (2) correctly.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 64 52 3AZ .

Position refrigerant lines (3) correctly.

Tighten down screws (2).

Tightening torque 64 52 4AZ .

Join and lock plug connection (1).

NOTE: Replace sealing rings.

To install the sealing rings without damaging them, use special tool 00 9 030.
