51 16 041 Removing and installing/replacing protective cap on left or right exterior mirror

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove MIRROR GLASS

Removal:

Unlock the protective cap using a small screwdriver (1) through the bore holes (see arrows).

Unlock the protective cap with a slight tug clockwise on the retaining lugs (2).

Installation:

Latch mechanisms (1) on housing (2) must not be damaged.

Install the protective cap (1) and engage it on all the latch mechanisms through pressure.
