Removing and installing/replacing carpet for passenger compartment (Cooper Convertible)
Preliminary work needed :
- Release end lining on front bottom of SAFETY BELT .
- Remove front DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT and PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT .
- Remove BASS SPEAKER
- Remove AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT .
- Remove CARRIER DASHBOARD .
- Remove REAR SEAT .
- Remove accelerator pedal module
- Release rear TRIM PANELS at bottom
- Remove side TRIM PANEL footwell, on left a-pillar, and/or right side trim PANEL FOOTWELL
Removal:
Release nuts (1) and remove holder (2).

Cut into carpet in area of dotted line (1).
Ensure that cables are not damaged when doing this.
Cut into carpet in area of dotted line (1) on left and right.
Ensure that cables are not damaged when doing this.
Take out the carpet from the vehicle and put aside.
Installation:
Replacement only:
Lay the available carpet over the new carpet and transfer the pattern (1).
Cut out new carpet along dotted line (1).
Place the carpet in the car.
Install holder (1) and tighten nuts (2). Tightening torque 51 16 5AZ .
Install holder (3) and tighten nut (4). Tightening torque 51 16 3AZ .

Required reworking:
- Mount end lining on front bottom of SAFETY BELT .
- Mount BASS SPEAKER
- Mount CARRIER DASHBOARD .
- Mount AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT .
- Mount accelerator pedal module
- Mount rear TRIM PANELS .
- Mount left side TRIM PANEL , Footwell, On A-Pillar and/or right side TRIM PANEL
- Mount both driver's side FRONT SEAT and passenger's side FRONT SEAT .
- Mount REAR SEAT .
