Removing and installing/replacing support for left or right outer door handle with lock cylinder (Cooper Convertible)

Preliminary work needed:

Remove OUTER HANDLE .
Remove front SOUND INSULATION .

Removal:

Remove screw (1).

Slide support (2) forwards and feed out inwards.

NOTE: If a cover is installed on the support (1), it does not have to be disassembled.

Shift support (1) forwards and detach operating rod (2) from door lock (3).

Feed out support (1) from door.

Detach cable (1) and remove support.

Replacement:

Remount LOCK CYLINDER .

Installation:

Attach cable (1).

NOTE: If a cover is installed on the support (1), it does not have to be disassembled.

Feed in support (1) into door.

Attach operating rod (2) in door lock (3).

Feed in support (2) into mounting towards the rear.

Tighten screw (1).

Tightening torque 51 21 6AZ .

Required reworking:

Install OUTER DOOR HANDLE .
Install SOUND INSULATION .
