Removing and installing rear bumper panel

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove left and right WHEEL ARCH TRIMS .
• Remove both NUMBER PLATE LIGHTS .

Removal: 

Remove clips (1).

Release left and right screws (1).

Release left and right screws (1).

Unclip the bumper cover from the lateral guides.

Unscrew the screws (1).

Guide out bumper cover (2) towards rear with aid of a second person.

Disconnect plug connections for tail lights and ultrasonic sensors.

Remove the bumper cover (2).

Installation: 

Position bumper cover (2) with the aid of a second person.

Connect plug connections for tail lights and ultrasonic sensors.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 12 3AZ .

Clip the bumper cover into the lateral guides.

Tighten screws (1) on left and right.

Tightening torque 51 12 4AZ .

Tighten screws (1) on left and right.

Tightening torque 51 12 3AZ .

Install clips (1).

Required reworking: 

• Install left and right WHEEL ARCH TRIMS .
• Install both NUMBER PLATE LIGHTS .
