Attention!
Engines with surface sealant:
Maximum processing time for sealing bead is 10 minutes.
Commissioning of the assembly is not possible until at least 25 minutes after the processing time.
Non-observance can lead to leaks in the assembly.
Removal:
Release tank vent line (1) at clamp (2).
Disconnect tank vent line (1) at connection (2).
Unlock and disconnect connector (1) for oil-level sensor.
Remove screw (2).
Remove cable routing (3).
Disengage the positive battery cable on the clamp (4).
Loosen screws (1).
Release screws (2-20).
Engine with liquid sealing compound:
Attention!
The oil sump can only be loosened in the areas (1) where an aperture is present in the oil sump.
Use a mounting lever (1) to release oil sump in arrow direction at the correct location.
Preparation for installation:
Clean seal residues from oil sump and crankcase.
Attention!
Do not use any metal-cutting tools (e.g. emery cloth).
Clean the sealing residue off the sealing surface (1) using special tool 11 4 472 and 11 4 472.
Installation note:
The sealing surface (1) must be free of oil, grease and cleaning agents.

Non-observance can lead to leaks in the assembly.
Apply SEALING COMPOUND 2.2 in this area (1).
Make sure that the sealing bead runs along the inner edge.
The oil return orifice (arrow) must be rounded completely.
Sealant height approximately 2 to 2.5 mm.
Installation:
Installation note:
Special tool 11 8 780 is only necessary if the engine or the transmission is removed.
Position the special tool 11 8 780 with the Torx screw (1) from the transmission so that the motor oil engine oil pan is exactly flush with the engine block.
If necessary, replace lining sleeves.
Attaching the oil sump.
Attention!
The use of screws of improper length can lead to component damage.
Note the exact screw length.
Install screws that correspond to the original length.
The oil pan can be damaged if the wrong screw length is used!
Ensure that the correct screw (2) (M8x40) is used for attaching the oil pan at the transmission.
The screw (1) (mounting bolt of starter) must never be used to attach the oil pan.
