- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced and appropriately trained personnel only.
- Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

Preliminary work
Remove BACKREST FRAME
Remove FRONT SEAT
Remove INNER COVER
Remove the COVER for backrest adjustment
Remove the STEERING LEVER for backrest adjustment
Remove the LEVER for seat height adjustment
Remove the OUTER COVER on the front seat
Remove TRIM for backrest release
Remove the REAR PANEL from the front seat backrest
Remove the TRIM at the bottom of the aperture
Remove SIDE AIRBAG from front seat
Remove the BACKREST COVER with the cushion
When replacing the backrest frame: REMOUNT COMPONENTS
- F56/57:
Detach cable linkage (1) from the holders (2) and (3).
- Shift the rear seat backrest into an upright position.
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the right and left side.
- Loosen screws (4).
- Completely remove the backrest frame (5) to the top.
If necessary, feed out the relative cable and set aside rear seat backrest.
