Removing and installing/replacing backrest cover for left or right rear seat (Cooper Convertible)

Special tools required: 

• 52 0 050

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove left or right REAR PANEL  on rear seat backrest.
• Remove HEAD RESTRAINT .
• Remove GUIDE SLEEVES .

Removal: 

Carefully feed out seat cover (1) at the bearing journals (2) of the backrest frame.

Turn up seat cover (1) all round edges and lift it off the upholstery (2).

Detaching cover from upholstery: 

• Disconnect all clamps in marked area
• Remove cover from upholstery
• Remove all remnants of guard controls from cover and padding

Installation: 

Pull seat cover over upholstery and mount clamps in marked area.

Parts: 

Replace upholstery clamps.

Insert new clamp (2) with special tool 52 0 050 and bend closed.

1. Upholstery
2. Clamp
3. Trim wire in upholstery
4. Trim wire in seat cover
5. Seat cover

Parts: 

Replace upholstery clamps.

Pull the backrest cover (1) over the upholstery (2).
