11 34 560 Replacing all valve stem seals (W10/W11)

Special tools required:

11 1 130
11 1 380
11 1 480
11 8 421
11 9 000

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove cylinder head cover. Refer to 11 12 000 Removing and installing, sealing cylinder head cover (COOPER S) .
Remove camshaft. Refer to 11 31 001 Replacing camshaft .

Mount cylinder head on special tool 11 9 000.

Press down with special tool 11 8 421.

Remove valve collets (1).

Remove all valve springs.

Press special tool 11 1 480 onto valve stem seal (1).

Remove the valve stem seal by turning and simultaneously pulling with the special tool 11 1 480.

Fit special tool 11 1 380.

Fit new valve stem seal (1).

Installation:

Oil valve stem and valve stem seal.

Press on valve stem seal with special tool 11 1 130 as far as it will go.

Installation:

Valve stem seal must be flush.

Assemble engine.
