11 12 000 Removing and installing, sealing cylinder head cover (COOPER S)

Turn ignition off.

Remove intercooler. Refer to 17 51 000 Removing and installing/replacing intercooler .

Remove bolts (1) securing left hand bracket and remove bracket (2).

Tightening torque 11 12 20AZ. Refer to ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove bolts (1) securing right hand bracket and remove bracket (2).

Tightening torque 11 12 21AZ. Refer to ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Disconnect hose (1).

Disconnect PCV valve (2).

Disconnect connector to coil pack (3).

Remove plug caps (twist and pull) (4).

Remove harness clips from inspection cover bolts.

Remove coil pack. Refer to 12 13 513 REPLACING IGNITION COIL .

Remove 12 cylinder head cover bolts.

Remove cylinder head cover.

Install hint: 

Replace cylinder head cover gasket if necessary.

Clean mating faces with a suitable material.

Replace retaining screws and insulators if damaged.

Install hint: 

Install cylinder head cover and tighten screws to sequence.

Tightening torque 11 12 1AZ. Refer to ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
