17 11 031 Replacing fan cowl (M54)

Remove fan impeller with fan clutch from water pump, refer to 11 52 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FAN CLUTCH (S52/S54/M52/M52TU/M54/M56) .

Remove coolant expansion tank from fan cowl, refer to 17 11 100 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING COOLANT EXPANSION TANK .

NOTE: Coolant lines remain connected.

Remove auxiliary water pump from fan cowl, refer to 64 11 262 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING AUXILIARY WATER PUMP (ON FAN COWL) .

NOTE: Coolant lines remain connected.

Unclip AUC sensor.

Lever out expansion rivets on left and right.

Detach sealing strip

Installation:

Pay attention to installation position of sealing strip.

Lift out fan cowl and fan impeller together.

Installation:

Attach fan cowl in retaining lugs at bottom and sides.
