17 11 000 Removing and installing radiator (M54)

WARNING: Danger of scalding!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.

Drain coolant, refer to 17 00 005 DRAINING OFF AND TOPPING UP COOLANT (M54) .

Remove fan cowl, refer to 17 11 031 REPLACING FAN COWL (M54) .

Lever out spring

Remove water hose

Release screws (3) on left and right of radiator.

Remove both brackets

Installation:

Follow instructions for working on cooling system, refer to 17 00... INSTRUCTIONS FOR WORKING ON COOLING SYSTEM .

Disconnect plug.

Lever out spring.

Remove water hose.

Installation:

Slide spring back.

Water hose must snap audibly into place.

Lift out radiator.

Installation:

Pay attention to rubber mounts on left and right.

Installation:

Install radiator with rubber mounts on left and right in bracket.

Top up coolant, refer to 17 00 005 DRAINING OFF AND TOPPING UP COOLANT (M54) .

Vent cooling system and check for leaks, refer to 17 00 039 BLEEDING COOLING SYSTEM AND CHECKING FOR WATER LEAKS .
