54 10 200 Removing and installing complete glass tilt sunroof

Necessary preliminary tasks:

IMPORTANT: Two persons are required to help in removing the glass tilt sunroof.
Cover door sill with protective covers (risk of damage)
Do not damage any surrounding components when removing the glass tilt sunroof.
Removed glass tilt sunroof must only be placed on a level support.
Do not place glass tilt sunroof on cross members.
Place glass tilt sunroof broadly across side frame.

Installation note:

Microencapsulated screws must be coated with Loctite if they are to be reused
Screw connection must be completed within 20 min. (start of hardening)
Microencapsulated screws must not be retightened
Thread of nut must be cleaned beforehand in event of repeated use

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

IMPORTANT: Airbag leads must not be damaged.

Unclip airbag lead from glass tilt sunroof frame.

Installation note:

Lay airbag lead without tension or kinks.

Release screws (1).

Remove holder (2) for mounting headlining.

Unlock and disconnect connector (1) for drive unit for floating headlining and connector (2) for glass tilt sunroof cover.
Unclip wiring harness (3).
Use supports to secure glass tilt sunroof in front section against falling.
Release screws in marked area from rear to front.
Tightening torque: 54 10 02AZ .
Remove glass tilt sunroof (4) completely (through front door).

IMPORTANT: Do not crush any cables when installing the glass tilt sunroof.
Installation note:
To align glass tilt sunroof to body aperture, insert screws with Loctite and tighten loosely.
Glass tilt sunroof must still be able to move in the body aperture.
On account of leaks, glass tilt sunroof must be exactly aligned to body aperture.
Insert special tool 54 1 110 into centering bore up to limit position in glass tilt sunroof unit and body.
Tighten down screws.
Tightening torque 54 10 02AZ .
INITIALIZE glass tilt sunroof.
