61 31 704 Replacing center console operating facility (from 07/2012)

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary work: 

Graphic shows repair kit for center console operating facility. 

Function keys (4) absolutely must be clipped to the correct position.

Incorrect assignment may result in damage to the operating element (1) or functional impairment.

Populate symbol elements (2) and function keys (4) on operating facility (1) according to the design of the used part, no blind caps are installed, rather blocking elements (5) are placed under the corresponding function keys (4).

Insert operating element (1) with symbol elements (2) and chrome frame (3).

Insert operating element (1) with function key (4) and, if necessary, blocking elements (5).

Removing function key from operating element (e.g. if inserted incorrectly): 

Lever out function key (1) out of operating facility (2) using special tool 00 9 321 .

Check locking lugs on function key (1), these must not be damaged.
