51 16 000 Removing and installing or replacing mirror on left or right front door

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front door trim panel. See 51 41 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .

Release rubber window seal (2) in area of mirror triangle and fold forwards.

Installation note:

Use suitable phillips screwdriver to correctly position nipples of rubber window seal (2) over bore hole.

Unlock plug connection (1) for rear-view mirror (3) and disconnect.

Unfasten screws (2).

Tightening torque 51 16 1AZ .

Remove rear-view mirror on front door with rubber seal (1) and set aside.

Installation note:

Correctly insert rubber seal (1) into recess of mirror mounting frame.

Installation note:

Correctly insert mirror base (2) into rubber window seal (1).

Replacement

Convert housing on exterior mirror. See 51 16 040 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING HOUSING ON LEFT OR RIGHT EXTERIOR MIRROR .
