51 17 100 Removing and installing/replacing trim strip on cover for soft top compartment lid center

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove cover on soft top compartment lid. See 51 17 001 REMOVING (REPLACING) AND INSTALLING COVER ON SOFT TOP COMPARTMENT LID .

Release screws (1).

Release adapter (2) from trim strip (3) and remove trim strip (3).

Installation note:

Observe tightening sequence!

Ensure the same gap dimension of the trim strip (3) on right and left.

Installation note:

Do not fit trim strip (1) from above on soft top compartment lid cover (2). Here the sealing lip (3) is pressed out and gap dimensions may not be observed.

Insert trim strip (1) from the front onto cover for soft top compartment lid (2).

Ensure correct gap dimension (X).

Dimension (X):

0.5 ± 0.5 mm
1 ± 0.5 mm
0 ± 0.5 mm

Screwing sequence:

Tighten down screws (1-12).

Install adapter (A).

Tighten down screws (13 and 14).

Tightening torque 51 17 12AZ .
