34 33 505 Removing and installing or replacing brake booster

WARNING: Compliance with the following points is mandatory before beginning work:

Observe SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS for handling with hybrid vehicles

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read and comply with GENERAL INFORMATION .
Remove brake master cylinder
Remove SBA CONTROL UNIT
Remove left FOOTWELL TRIM

Release screws (1).

Remove air duct (2).

Push in both retaining lugs (1) and push out brake pedal bolt in direction of arrow.

Installation:

Brake pedal bolt (1) must always be replaced.

Make sure bolt latches correctly.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Installation:

Replace self-locking nuts.

Tightening torque 35 11 1AZ .

IMPORTANT: Do not use any force when removing and installing the brake unit; the brake unit can be damaged under certain circumstances.
Brake lines must not be bent.

Remove non-return valve (1) from brake booster.

Disconnect plug connections (2).

Remove brake lines (3) from brackets.

Carefully pull brake booster (4) out of bulkhead and tilt out.

If necessary, press brake lines to one side slightly.
