61 71 100 Removing and installing/replacing windshield washer pump(s)

Remove front right wheel arch cover (rear section). Refer to 51 71 040 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT WHEEL ARCH COVER .

NOTE: Drain fluid tank for windshield washer system

When removing the windshield washer pump(s), carefully withdraw them so that the strainer(s) is/are not detached from the pump(s) and drop(s) into the fluid tank. If this is the case, remove the fluid tank in order to remove the strainer(s). Refer to 61 71 061 Replacing fluid tank for windshield washer system  .

Washer pump for windshield washer system: 

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unlock and detach connector (2) of hose.

Pull washer pump for windshield washer system (1) vertically upwards and remove.

Installation: 

Coat sealing ring of washer pump with anti-seize agent.

Replace sealing ring/strainer of washer pump.

Fill fluid tank for windshield washer system.

Washer pump for headlight washer system: 

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Detach hose with angle section (2).

Pull washer pump for windshield washer system (1) vertically upwards and remove.

Installation: 

Coat sealing ring of washer pump with anti-seize agent.

Replace sealing ring/strainer of washer pump.

Fill fluid tank for windshield washer system.
