51 44 011 Removing and installing/replacing headliner (with slide/tilt sunroof): Notes

Remove both sun visors and counter support. See 51 16 080 Removing And Installing Or Replacing Sun Visor And Left Or Right Counter Support .

Remove all grab handles. See 51 16 480 Removing And Installing Or Replacing Front Grab Handle .

Remove both panels for front roof pillar (A-pillar finishers). See 51 43 251 Removing And Installing/Replacing Trim Panel For Left Or Right Rear Roof Pillar (C Pillar) .

Remove both panels for door pillar (top) (B-pillar finishers). See 51 43 148 Removing And Installing Or Replacing Trim On Left Or Right Door Pillar (Top) .

Remove both panels for rear roof pillar (C-pillar finishers). See 51 43 251 Removing And Installing/Replacing Trim Panel For Left Or Right Rear Roof Pillar (C Pillar) .

Remove both panels for rear roof pillar (D-pillar finishers). See 51 43 252 Removing And Installing/Replacing Panel For Rear Roof Pillar (D-Pillar), Left Or Right .

Remove bracket on headliner at front. See 51 44 020 Removing And Installing/Replacing Bracket On Roof Lining At Front .

Remove front and rear head restraints. See 52 13 390 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING FRONT HEADREST .

Remove sunroof lid. See 54 12 115 REMOVING AND INSTALLING GLASS SLIDING TILT SUNROOF .

Remove front and rear ceiling light. See 63 31 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING COMPLETE CEILING LIGHT .

Remove ultrasonic module. See .65 75 565 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING ULTRASONIC MODULE .

Release screws (1).

If necessary, remove all dividing net mounts:

Detach trims of covers for dividing net mount over lock (1) completely.

Release screw (2) and remove dividing net mounts.

Installation:

Observe position specifications on reverse side of covers (RR, FR, RL, FL).

Move both front seat backrests as far back as possible.
Removing roller cover from luggage compartment, refer to Owner's Handbook.
Fold both rear-seat backrests forward.
Pull off mucket of front and rear doors.

CAUTION: The following tasks must be carried out with a second person assisting:
Support headliner at front.

Release screws (1) under bracket on headliner (2).

Press headliner at rear to one side and in so doing slide three guides (1) out of sliding clips in body.

Turn headliner and remove towards rear.

Installation:

Pull sliding clips (1) out of retainers in body roof lining and slide into guides (2) of headliner.

If necessary, replace metal retainers in body roof lining.
