35 21 000 Removing and installing/replacing brake pedal

Remove lower right trim from instrument panel. See 51 45 181 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM FOR INSTRUMENT PANEL, LOWER RIGHT .

If necessary, remove panel for pedal assembly. 51 45 185 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM FOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY .

If necessary, remove reinforcement plate and switch unit.

NOTE: After installation: Adjust brake light switch.

Raise lugs on retainers (1) and detach retainers. Unhook spring (2).

Pull out retaining pin (1) and detach piston rod from brake pedal.

Remove brake pedal (2).

Installation:

Check bearing bushes (1) and replace if necessary.

Apply a light coat of grease to bearing bushings (1) and bore.
