11 21 500 Replacing crankshaft (N62 / N62TU)

CRANKSHAFT REPLACING OPERATION REFERENCE

| Remove engine | |
| Remove cylinder head (cylinder bank 1 to 4) | |
| Remove cylinder head (cylinder bank 5 to 8) | |
| Remove hub for vibration damper | |
| Remove lower timing case cover | |
| Remove oil pan | |
| Remove oil pump | |
| Remove piston | |
| Remove flywheel |
Release main bearing inclined screw connection (1).
Installation:
Tightening torque, see 11 11 3AZ in ENGINE BLOCK .
Release spacer bolt (2).
Tightening torque, see 11 11 3AZ in ENGINE BLOCK .
Release main bearing screws.
Tightening torque, see 11 11 2AZ in ENGINE BLOCK .
Remove main bearing caps 1 to 5.
Lever out crankshaft.
Replace main crankshaft bearing shells.
Replace conrod bearing shells.
