11 22 000 Removing and installing/replacing flywheel (N62/N62TU)

Special tools required:
- 11 4 180 . See ENGINE- SPECIAL TOOLS .
- 11 9 260
- 11 9 262
- 11 9 263
- 11 9 264
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove automatic transmission. See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS .
- Remove manual transmission. See MANUAL TRANSMISSION - REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS .
- Remove clutch. See CLUTCH - REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS .
Automatic transmissions only:
Block flywheel (1) with special tools 11 9 260 / 11 9 263 / 11 9 264 .
Unfasten flywheel screws.
Remove flywheel (1).
Installation:
Clean threads on flywheel screws in crankshaft.
Flywheel (1) is secured with an alignment pin.
Fit flywheel (1).
Fit new flywheel screws.
Tightening torque, see 11 22 1AZ in FLYWHEEL .
Manual transmissions only:
Block flywheel (dual-mass) with special tools 11 9 260 / 11 9 262 / 11 9 263 .
Release flywheel screws with special tool 11 4 180.
Installation:
Flywheel (1) is secured with an alignment pin.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use screw locking varnish.
Tightening torque, see 11 22 1AZ in FLYWHEEL .
