Test R: Turn & High Beam Indicators Never On

  1. Check indicators ground path. Turn key OFF. Locate and disconnect the C270 and C266 instrument cluster connectors. Measure the resistance of the Black wires between the C270 and C266 instrument cluster connectors and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Are the resistances less than 5 ohms? If yes, replace the instrument cluster printed circuit. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PRINTED CIRCUIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If no, go to next step.
  2. Check ground wires. Turn key OFF. Disconnect the C270 and C266 instrument cluster connectors. Locate and remove the center green diode strip from the diode junction box. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Measure the resistance of the Black wires between the C270 and the C266 instrument cluster connectors and Pin No. 14 at the diode junction box connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  for connector identification. Are the resistances less than 5 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, service Black wires.
  3. Check ground wire. Turn key OFF. Remove the center green diode strip from the diode junction box. Measure the resistance of the Black wire between Pin No. 15 at the diode junction box connector and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, replace the center green diode strip. If no, service Black wires.
