Test N: Low Fuel Indicator Never/Always On

  1. Check low fuel indicator miniature bulb. Turn key OFF. Remove the instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove the low fuel indicator miniature bulb. Measure the continuity between the terminals of the low fuel indicator miniature bulb. Does continuity exist? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace the low fuel indicator miniature bulb.
  2. Check instrument cluster printed circuit. Turn key OFF. Install the low fuel indicator miniature bulb in the instrument cluster. Check the continuity between terminal No. 2 of the instrument cluster connector C268 and Pin No. 1 of the fuel indicator module on the back of the instrument cluster. See Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Does continuity exist? If yes, replace the fuel indicator module. See FUEL INDICATOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If no, replace the instrument cluster printed circuit. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PRINTED CIRCUIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
