1	Shift transmission to N position.
2	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift.		AR00.60-P-1006A
3	Reduce pneumatic pressure of suspension struts using diagnostic system.
		The complete wheels must not touch the ground. Otherwise the suspension struts may suffer initial damage and malfunction at a later stage.	AD00.00-P-2000-06FR
4	Remove propeller shaft from rear axle differential, hang to one side and fix in place.	Model 223 with engine 176, 256 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)	AR41.10-P-0050S

5	Remove rear diagonal struts.		AR61.10-P-5142S
6	Remove covers under spring links.
7	Remove screws (1) from left and right vibration damper (2) and remove vibration dampers (2).	Screw, vibration damper to rear elastomer bearing of rear axle carrier	*BA35.10-P-1012-01R
8	Remove screws (10).	Screw, support to rear suspension subframe carrier	*BA35.10-P-1013-01R
9	Remove nuts (11) and remove support (12).	Nut, support to rear-end floor	*BA35.10-P-1009-01R
10	Disconnect electrical connectors (13).	Model 223 with engine 176, 256, 656 with code 201 (Rear axle steering) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Model 223 with engine 176, 256, 656 with code 216 (Rear axle steering with large angle) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
11	Remove screw (14) and leave line bracket (15) hanging down at one side. 13	Remove bolts (16).	Do not use an impact wrench. Otherwise, the threads will be damaged. : Use compressed air to clean thread in frame floor assembly and check for correct seating of threaded inserts. 14	Carefully lower rear axle.	Do not stretch brake hoses and electric lines. Otherwise, the brake hoses and electric lines will be damaged. Maximum lowering dimension of rear axle	*BE35.00-P-1002-01A
15	Remove elastomer bearings (17).	Always replace elastomer bearings (17) in pairs.	AR35.10-P-0040-03S
