Remove/Install Rear Elastomer Bearing Of Rear Axle Suspension - AR35.10-P-0040-03S

Notes on safety-relevant components

Remove 

The following parts from the extraction and insertion tool are required:

• Thrust piece (6) (204 589 00 43 01)
• Counterholder (5) (204 589 00 43 02)
• Spindle (4) (204 589 00 43 05)

1. Mark installation position of rear elastomer bearing (1) on rear axle carrier (2).
2. Connect the hollow cylinder (3) with hydraulic hose to hand pump.
3. Position hollow cylinder (3) with spindle (4) and counterholder (5) on rear axle carrier (2), as shown.
4. Screw thrust piece (6) flush onto spindle (4).
5. Secure the hollow cylinder (3) with security belt against falling down.
6. Align pull-off device and press rear elastomer bearing (1) out of rear axle carrier (2).

7. Detach pulling device.

   Install 

   The following parts from the extraction and insertion tool are required:

   • Counterholder (9) (204 589 00 43 04)
   • Spindle (4) (204 589 00 43 05)

   The following part from the extraction and insertion tool is required:

   • Thrust piece (8) (223 589 01 43 03)
8. Clean bearing seat on rear axle carrier (2).
9. Coat rear elastomer bearing (1) with insertion agent.
10. Position rear elastomer bearing (1) on rear axle carrier (2).

    Align rear elastomer bearing (1) with markings Both arrows (7) on the bottom of the rear elastomer bearing (1) must point in the direction of travel.

11. Connect the hollow cylinder (3) with hydraulic hose to hand pump.
12. Position hollow cylinder (3) with spindle (4) and thrust piece (8) on rear axle carrier (2), as shown.
13. Screw counterholder (9) flush onto spindle (4).
14. Secure the hollow cylinder (3) with security belt against falling down.
15. Align insertion device and press rear elastomer bearing (1) into rear axle carrier (2).
16. Remove insertion device.
