	Remove/install
1	Shift transmission to "N" position.
2	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift.		AR00.60-P-1006A
3	Reduce pneumatic pressure of suspension struts (5) using diagnostic system.
		The complete wheels must not touch the ground. Otherwise, the suspension struts (5) can be pre-damaged and subsequently malfunction.	AD00.00-P-2000-06FR
4	Drain the hydraulic pressure lines of the electrohydraulic suspension using guided diagnosis.	Model 223 with code 490 (Electrohydraulic suspension) The complete wheels must not touch the ground. Otherwise, the suspension struts (5) can be pre-damaged and subsequently malfunction. It is essential that the shutoff valves (5) at the suspension struts are closed.	AR32.50-P-0042S
5	Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).
6	Remove brake caliper with connected brake hoses and hang to one side free of tension.		AR42.10-P-0080S

15	Unscrew screws (28), and remove equipotential bonding lines from underbody. 17	Disconnect electrical connectors (1) from left and right suspension strut (5).

19.1	Disconnect electrical connector of wheel speed rpm sensor (L6/3) and wheel speed rpm sensor (L6/4).	Model 223 except code 200 (Conditionally automated driving)

20	Remove screws (4) on left and right side of vehicle and place line brackets (3) to one side.
21	Unclip electric line from holder of level sensor (B22/7) and level sensor (B22/10).
22	Disconnect electrical connectors of level sensors (B22/7, B22/10) and leave electric lines hanging down at one side.
23	Remove covers (7) under spring links and under thrust arms. 24	Remove screws (8) from left and right vibration damper (9) and remove vibration dampers (9). 33	Position lifting platform with mount onto rear axle and secure with tensioning strap.

34	Unscrew screws (19) and remove stop plates (20).	Do not use an impact wrench. Otherwise, the threads will be damaged.
		: Use compressed air to clean thread in frame floor assembly and check for correct seating of threaded inserts. Self-locking bolt securing front elastomer bearing of rear axle carrier to frame floor assembly	*BA35.10-P-1001-01R
35	Remove bolts (21).	Do not use an impact wrench. Otherwise, the threads will be damaged. : Use compressed air to clean thread in frame floor assembly and check for correct seating of threaded inserts. Self-locking bolt securing rear elastomer bearing of rear axle carrier to frame floor assembly	*BA35.10-P-1003-01R
36	Lower rear axle completely.
37	Install in the reverse order.
38	Perform wheel alignment measurement.		AR40.20-P-0200S
