Set Basic Position Of Camshafts - AR05.20-P-6020SVZ

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

Notice  Notes on threaded connections fastened using a tightening angle-based tightening process   AH00.00-P-0020-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove front cap on left cylinder head.   AR01.30-P-5711SVZ
2 Remove front cap from right cylinder head.   AR01.30-P-5712SVZ
3 Remove retaining ring (2) at left camshaft sprocket (8) and remove centrifuge (4).    
4 Position crankshaft at 30° after ignition TDC at cylinder 1. NOTES
Do not turn engine opposite to the direction of engine rotation.
The timing chain can skip otherwise and engine damage can occur.
IMPORTANT Turn engine at crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until mark 30° CKA at belt pulley (1) matches with mark at timing case cover (arrow).

5 Remove the chain tensioner.   AR05.10-P-7800SVZ 
6 Unscrew bolts (10) and remove camshaft sprockets (5, 8). IMPORTANT Secure timing chain to prevent it from falling down.
IMPORTANT Ensure that crankshaft does not turn out of position.
 
7 Install holding devices (6) and turn camshafts (3) to basic position. IMPORTANT Basic position of camshafts (3) is only correct if SPECIAL TOOL holding device (6) can be installed free of tension at left cylinder head.
IMPORTANT Basic position of camshafts (3) is only correct if SPECIAL TOOL holding device (6) can be installed free of tension at right cylinder head.

INSTALLING Install     
8 Position timing chain on camshaft sprockets (5, 8) and install camshaft sprockets (5, 8).    
9 Screw in the screws (10). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Camshaft sprocket bolt *BA05.20-P-1001-02L 
10 Install the chain tensioner.   AR05.10-P-7800SVZ 
INSPECT Check     
11 Crank engine at crankshaft several times by hand. NOTES
Do not turn engine opposite to the direction of engine rotation.
The timing chain can skip otherwise and engine damage can occur.

12 Position crankshaft at 30° after ignition TDC at cylinder 1. NOTES
Do not turn engine opposite to the direction of engine rotation.

IMPORTANT Turn engine at crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until mark 30° CKA at belt pulley (1) matches with mark at timing case cover (arrow).

13 Check basic position of camshafts (3). IMPORTANT Basic position of camshafts (3) is only correct if SPECIAL TOOL holding device (6) can be installed free of tension at left cylinder head.
IMPORTANT Basic position of camshafts (3) is only correct if SPECIAL TOOL holding device (6) can be installed free of tension at right cylinder head.

If basic position of camshafts (3) is incorrect:
↓
Repeat from operation step 4 onwards again.

INSTALLING Install     
14 Place centrifuge (4) on left camshaft sprocket (8) and install retaining ring (2). IMPORTANT Replace O-ring (9).  
15 Install front cap to the right cylinder head.   AR01.30-P-5712SVZ
16 Remove front cap on left cylinder head.   AR01.30-P-5711SVZ
