	Remove
1	Drain off low-temperature circuit coolant.	Model 223 with engine 256.9 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR20.00-P-1144SB
2	Remove rear propeller shaft.		AR41.10-P-0050S
3	Remove heat shield from transmission.		AR27.40-P-0700-01S
4	Release and disconnect central connector from transmission.
5	Remove bracket (6).
6	Release coolant line (3) on timing case and slide to one side.		AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
7	Remove heat shield (4).
8	Remove bracket (5).
9	Operate service brake and remove screws (7).	Do not counterhold the propeller shaft (1) at the universal joint. The needle roller bearings and seals of the propeller shaft (1) will otherwise be damaged. Aid of helper required.
10	Remove propeller shaft (1) from front axle differential.
11	Remove propeller shaft (1) together with transfer case.		AR28.10-P-0100S
12	Remove propeller shaft (1) from transfer case.
13	Check sealing bellows (8) for damage.	If sealing bellows (8) is damaged,
		↓ replace sealing bellows (8).
	Install
14	Grease splined profile (9).	Klueber Microlube GNY 202	*BR00.45-Z-1071-06A
15	Attach propeller shaft (1) to transfer case.	The marking (arrow) on the splined profile (9) must line up exactly with the marking (arrow) on the propeller shaft (1).
16	Install propeller shaft (1) together with transfer case.	Install rear propeller shaft at transmission after installation of heat shield.	AR28.10-P-0100S
17	Position propeller shaft (1) on front axle differential.
18	Operate service brake and screw in screws (7).	Do not counterhold the propeller shaft (1) at the universal joint. The needle roller bearings and seals of the propeller shaft (1) will otherwise be damaged. Aid of helper required. Replace the bolts (7). Screw/bolt, propeller shaft to front axle gear	*BA33.30-P-1012-03G
19	Install holder (5).	Collar bolt, holder for heat shield to transmission/holder for exhaust system	*BA33.30-P-1010-03G
20	Install heat shield (4).	Collar bolt, heat shield to holder of heat shield/retaining plate/front axle differential	*BA33.30-P-1009-03G
21	Mount coolant line (3) onto timing case.		AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
		M6x1	*BA00.10-P-1002-04A
22	Install bracket (6).
23	Connect and lock central connector at transmission.
24	Install heat shield on transmission.		AR27.40-P-0700-01S
		Bolt, leaf spring for heat shield to transmission	*BA27.10-P-1008-04H
		Bolt, heat shield to oil pan	*BA27.10-P-1009-04H
25	Install rear propeller shaft.		AR41.10-P-0050S
26	Fill the low-temperature coolant circuit.	Model 223 with engine 256.9 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR20.00-P-1144SB
