Remove/Install Upper Hinge Of Rear Door - AR72.12-P-2662S

	Remove
1	Mark installation position of rear door in relation to rear fender and longitudinal member panel with suitable adhesive strips.
2	Open front door and rear door.
3	Adjust front seat toward the front to end position.
4	Remove upper B-pillar trim.		AR68.30-P-4700S
5	Remove cover cap and loosen grub screw (2) by 3 revolutions.
6	Close rear door.
7	Mark installation position of B-pillar hinge leaf (1.2) and rear door hinge leaf (1.3).
8	Remove screw (3).
9	Remove insulation insert (4).
10	Remove nuts (5).
11	Release B-pillar hinge leaf (1.2), remove rear door hinge leaf (1.3), and remove B-pillar hinge leaf (1.2).	To remove rear door hinge leaf (1.3), hinge (1) must be folded up to the extent that catch (arrow A) is disengaged.
12	Remove seal below the B-pillar hinge leaf (1.2).
13	Clean B-pillar in the area of the B-pillar hinge leaf (1.2).	Cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1025-04A
	Install
14	Insert B-pillar hinge leaf (1.2) with new seal.
15	Insert rear door hinge leaf (1.3) into B-pillar hinge leaf (1.2).	To install rear door hinge leaf (1.3), hinge (1) must be folded up to the extent that catch (arrow A) is disengaged.
16	Position screw (3) up to end stop.
17	Position nuts (5).
18	Align rear door hinge leaf (1.3) using markings and tighten screw (3).	Model 223 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Screw, hinge to rear door	*BA72.12-P-1001-01U
19	Correct installation position of rear door based on adhesive strips and tighten nuts (5).	Aid of helper required. During tightening, press rear door hinge leaf (1.3) and B-pillar hinge leaf (1.2) together.
		Model 223 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Nut, hinge to column	*BA72.12-P-1010-01U
	Check
20	Open and close rear door.	Installation position of rear door can subsequently change due to the opening and closing.
21	Check gap dimensions at the rear door and adjust.		AR72.12-P-0650S
22	Repair paint damage at respective screw heads.
23	Tighten grub screw (2).	Model 223 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Grub screw for hinge separation	*BA72.12-P-1015-01U
24	Repair paint damage on grub screw (2).
25	Protect rear door and B-pillar in the area of the hinge (1) against corrosion.	Wax for engine compartment (400 ml spray can)	*BR00.45-Z-1018-05A
26	Install cover cap of grub screw (2).
27	Install insulation insert (4).
28	Install upper B-pillar trim.		AR68.30-P-4700S

29	Remove adhesive strips from rear fender and longitudinal member panel.
