	Check
1	Check gap dimensions at rear door (1).		AR60.00-P-0900-01S
		Always perform adjustment work on uneven gap dimensions on upper and lower hinge leaves. Otherwise tension and damage can occur.

	Remove
2	Expose nuts (3) of lower hinge.		AR72.12-P-2663S
3	Expose nuts (2) of upper hinge.		AR72.12-P-2662S
4	Remove door holder (7) from B-pillar.	Move door holder (7) to zero position. The paint will be damaged otherwise.
	Adjust
5	Mark position of lock striker (4) relative to C-pillar.
6	Unscrew screws (5) and remove lock striker (4).
7	Release nuts (2) and nuts (3) on B-pillar alternately.	When performing adjustment work on hinge halves on B-pillar.
		During adjustment, ensure that only nuts (2) or nuts (3) are loosened. Otherwise the paint can be damaged when the rear door (1) comes into contact with other components.
8	Adjust corresponding gap dimensions by moving rear door (1).	When performing adjustment work on hinge halves on B-pillar.

		Completely move rear door (1). Otherwise the paint can be damaged when the rear door (1) comes into contact with other components.

9	Tighten nuts (2) and nuts (3) on B-pillar.	When performing adjustment work on hinge halves on B-pillar.

10	Release screws (6) on rear door (1) alternately.	When performing adjustment work on hinge halves on rear door (1).
		During adjustment work, ensure that only one of the screws (6) is loosened. Otherwise the paint can be damaged when the rear door (1) comes into contact with other components.
11	By moving rear door (1), adjust transition of front door to rear door (1) and door position in a vertical direction.	When performing adjustment work on hinge halves on rear door (1).
		Contour of front door must align with contour of rear door (1) or may protrude by a maximum of 1 mm.
12	Tighten screws (6) on rear door (1).	When performing adjustment work on hinge halves on rear door (1).
		Model 223 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Screw, hinge to rear door	*BA72.12-P-1001-01U
13	Position lock striker (4) on C-pillar and position screws (5).	It should still be possible to adjust the lock striker (4).
14	Align lock striker (4) by closing rear door (1) carefully.	The contour of the rear door (1) must align with the contour of the C-pillar or project by a maximum of 1 mm.
15	Tighten screws (5) of lock striker (4).	Model 223 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Screw, lock striker to C-pillar	*BA72.12-P-1003-01U
	Install
16	Repair paint damage on screw heads of screws (6).	When performing adjustment work on hinge halves on rear door (1).
17	Protect rear door (1) or B-pillar in area of the two hinges against corrosion.	Wax for engine compartment (400 ml spray can)	*BR00.45-Z-1018-05A
18	Attach door holder (7) to B-pillar.	Model 223 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Bolt, door holder to B-pillar	*BA72.12-P-1016-01U
