DANGER Risk of fire  due to ignition of R1234yf refrigerant on hot components. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by contact with escaped R1234yf refrigerant and when working on pressurized parts. Risk of explosion  due to formation of ignitable refrigerant/air mixtures Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated rooms. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove fan unit. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install lower engine compartment paneling after leak test. AR20.40-P-5050MFG
2 Remove poly-V-belt.   AR13.22-P-1202MFG
3 Remove wiring harness from alternator (G2) and place outside working area.   AR15.18-P-0016MFG
4 Release electrical connector (1) and disconnect.    
5 Tighten screws (2). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, refrigerant lines to A/C compressor *BA83.55-P-1002-01BA 
6 Remove refrigerant lines (3) from refrigerant compressor (A9) or refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (A9/7) and seal exposed connections with suitable stop plugs.    
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Compressor oils (specification 362.1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Install new seals and wet with compressor oil. BB00.40-P-0362-01A

7 Unscrew screws (4) and remove refrigerant compressor (A9) or refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (A9/7). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, A/C compressor to bracket *BA83.55-P-1001-01BA 
8 Flush air conditioning system. When replacing the refrigerant compressor (A9) or refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (A9/7).

9 Remove receiver drier. If one of the following conditions is met: The vehicle is older than 5 years; the refrigerant is soiled (dark gray to black color); the refrigerant compressor (A9) or refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (A9/7) is blocked; or the refrigerant circuit was damaged (e.g. following an accident).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace drier cartridge.

10 Install in the reverse order.    
  Concluding tasks     
11 Commission refrigerant compressor (A9) or refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (A9/7). When replacing the refrigerant compressor (A9) or refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (A9/7).

WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12 Carry out engine test run, checking air conditioning system for proper operation and leak tightness while doing so.    
13 Install lower engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105MFR
