Remove/Install Poly-V Belt - AR13.22-P-1202MFC

Check special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection). Wear protective gloves. AS00.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove front right wheel and tire assembly.   AR40.10-P-1102MFA
2 Remove front section of fender liner in right front fender.   AR88.10-P-1301MFA
3 Mark running direction of the poly-V-belt (1). If poly-V-belt (1) will be further used.  
4 Tension tensioning device (2), remove poly-V-belt (1) and guide out of right front wheel arch.   AR13.22-P-3902-02NKB 
5 Check poly-V-belt (1) for wear, aging (crack formation) and damage.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   If wear or damage is present,

replace poly-V belt.

6 Check guide pulley for damage, wear and contamination. If problems exist,

Replace guide pulley.
 
7 Check tensioning device (2) for damage, wear and contamination. If problems exist,

replace clamping device (2).

8 Check alternator belt pulley for damage, wear, and soiling. If problems exist,

Replace belt pulley for alternator.

9 Check refrigerant compressor belt pulley for damage, wear, and soiling. If problems exist,

Replace refrigerant compressor. Engine 260 in model 118, 177, 247 except code B01 (48V technology)

10 Check coolant pump for damage, wear and contamination. If problems exist,

Replace coolant pump.

11 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12 Perform engine test run. While doing so, Check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
