Remove/Install Trunk Lid - AR88.50-P-0001MFA

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove lamp unit (E3/1, E4/1) at trunk lid (1).   AR82.10-P-4927MFV
2 Release and disconnect electrical connectors (8). IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors (8) can vary depending on the equipment.  
3 Remove left electrical wiring harness (2) from trunk lid (1). SPECIAL TOOL Dismantling tool Fig 1
4 Release and disconnect electrical connectors (6, 7, 9). IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors (6, 7, 9) can vary depending on the equipment.  
5 Remove right electrical wiring harness (3) from trunk lid (1). SPECIAL TOOL Dismantling tool Fig 1
6 Remove bolts (5).    
7 Loosen bolts (4). IMPORTANT A helper is required to secure trunk lid (1).  
8 Remove trunk lid (1) upwards. IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.  
INSTALLING Install     
9 Attach trunk lid (1) with screws (4) to hinges. IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.
If trunk lid (1) is to be replaced:

Perform preparatory work for attaching the rear spoiler.
Remove/install rear spoiler
Model 118.3 with code 772 (AMG styling - Front spoiler, side skirts)
AR88.30-P-0500MFE 
10 Tighten screws (4, 5) to extent that trunk lid (1) can still be moved. IMPORTANT Screws (4, 5) are tightened during adjustment of trunk lid (1).
Aid of helper required.
 
11 Install right electrical wiring harness (3) on trunk lid (1).    
12 Connect and lock electrical connectors (6, 7, 9).    
13 Install left electrical wiring harness (2) on trunk lid (1).    
14 Connect and lock electrical connectors (8).    
15 Adjust trunk lid (1).   AR88.50-P-0002MFA 
16 Install lamp unit (E3/1, E4/1) on trunk lid (1).   AR82.10-P-4927MFV
17 Read out and delete fault memory.    
REFER TO SELF DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06MFA
  Calibrate     
18 Calibrate rear 360° camera with vehicle diagnosis system. Model 118.3
with code 501 (360° camera)
