	Remove/install
1	Remove hub cover from rear wheel.	If hub cover cannot be removed, ↓ remove rear wheel, remove hub cover and remount rear wheel.	AR40.10-P-1102A
2	Loosen screw (1) or nut of rear axle shaft.	The vehicle must be standing on its wheels for this. Rear axle shaft to rear axle shaft flange	*BA35.30-P-1001-01L
3	Drain hydraulic lines of electrohydraulic suspension using guided diagnosis.	Model 223 with code 490 (Electrohydraulic suspension) The complete wheels must not touch the ground. Otherwise, the suspension struts (4) will suffer initial damage and malfunction later on. The shutoff valves on the suspension strut (4) must be closed.	AR32.50-P-0042S
4	Reduce pneumatic pressure of suspension struts (4) using diagnostic system.

5	Remove rear wheel.		AR40.10-P-1102A
6	Remove brake disk (2).		AR42.10-P-0240S
7	Remove screw (1) or nut from rear axle shaft.	: Replace screw (1) or nut. Do not fully tighten screw (1) or nut yet.
8	Remove covers (3).	Model 223 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
9.1	Release and disconnect electrical connector of wheel speed rotational speed sensor (L6/3) and wheel speed rotational speed sensor (L6/4).	Model 223 except code 200 (Conditionally automated driving)
9.2	Release and disconnect electrical connectors of wheel speed rotational speed sensors (L6/3, L7/3) and wheel speed rotational speed sensors (L6/4, L7/4).	Model 223 with code 200 (Conditionally automated driving)
10	Release and disconnect electrical connector of wheel acceleration sensor (B24/22) and wheel acceleration sensor (B24/23).	Model 223 with engine 177.8 with code ME10 (Hybrid vehicle (plug-in, PHEV)) Model 223 with code 96B (Road noise cancellation via speakers (RNC))
11	Remove screws (11).	Screw, cable holder to wheel carrier	*BA42.30-P-1002-02M
12	Place holder (13) with electric lines to one side.	Do not crush or kink or subject electric lines to tension. This will result in damage to the electric lines and can impair their function.
13	Remove screw (15).	Screw, cable holder to wheel carrier	*BA42.30-P-1002-02M
14	Place holder (16) with electric line to one side.	Do not crush or kink electric line or subject it to tension. This will result in damage to the electric line and may impair its function.
15.1	Remove rear axle spring.	Model 223 with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)	AR32.20-P-0232SG
15.2	Remove tie rod (6) from wheel carrier (5).	Model 223 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) : Do not fully tighten screw of tie rod (6) until after wheel alignment measurement.
