Remove/Install Rear SAM Control Unit - AR54.21-P-1269LF

NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Connect diagnostic system and perform initial startup of rear SAM control unit (N10/8) When replacing the rear SAM control unit (N10/8).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
2 Disconnect ground line of on-board electrical system battery   AR54.10-P-0003LF
3.1 Remove rear prefuse box (F33) Model 222 with code ME04 (Mild hybrid drive) AR54.15-P-1340LF
3.2 Remove cable ties (2, 6), detach rear prefuse box (F33) from control unit bracket (1) and set down toward rear with electrical lines still connected Model 217.3

INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Install new cable ties (2, 6).

4 Detach rear fuse and relay module (8) from mounting bracket (7) and place to one side toward rear with electrical lines still connected Model 217.4 AR54.15-P-0001LF
5 Remove screw/bolt (3) Model 217.3, 222  
6 Remove control unit bracket (1) from rear panel and fold over toward rear until rear SAM control unit (N10/8) is accessible Model 217.3, 222
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Make sure that the retaining tabs are seated correctly in the mounts on the rear panel (arrow).
 
7 Remove screw/bolt (4)    
8 Remove screws/bolts securing mounting bracket (7) to bracket, push mounting bracket (7) in upward direction and unclip rear SAM control unit (N10/8) from mounting bracket (7) and place toward rear Model 217.4
IMPORTANT There are 2 screws/bolts present in total.
 
9 Disconnect electrical connections (5) IMPORTANT The electrical connectors (5) are coded and cannot be interchanged.
The number of electrical connections (5) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.
 
10 Remove rear SAM control unit (N10/8)    
11 Install in the reverse order
