Remove/Install Front Bumper - AR88.20-P-2000LC

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Open engine hood    
2 Disconnect battery ground line Model 217
with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection))
AR54.10-P-0003LF
3 Remove Mercedes star in radiator grille Model 217
as of model year 2018
with code 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS)
AR88.40-P-4050LC 
4 Remove screws/bolts (1, 2, 3)    
5 Detach fender liners (4) at front left and front right until screws (5) can be accessed   AR88.10-P-1300LF 
6 Remove bolts (5)    
7 Unclip and disconnect electrical connectors (6)    
8 Remove front engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105LF
9 Unscrew bolt (8)    
10 Disconnect electrical connector of outside temperature sensor and unclip electric line from bumper (9) Model 217
with code 772 (AMG styling package - front spoiler, side skirts and rear apron)

11 Remove bumper (9)    
Topical note General information on the impact absorber   AH88.20-P-1000-01A 
    IMPORTANT Helper required.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check gap dimensions at bumper (9).
In the event of complaints

Adjust bumper (9).

    Model 217.3/4 Bumper to headlamp *BE60.00-P-1014-01DA 
    Model 217.3/4 Engine hood to bumper *BE60.00-P-1013-01DA 
    SPECIAL TOOL Fig 1
12 Disassemble bumper (9) Only when replacing bumper (9) or individual parts. AR88.20-P-2050LC 
INSPECT Check     
13 Check freely visible points on pedestrian protections sensor for damage of any kind (cracks, holes, breakovers, etc.) when installed Model 217
with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection))
 
Topical note Notes on pedestrian protection sensor   AH91.60-P-0001-01A
    If damage is visible.

Replace pedestrian protection sensor.

14 Install in the reverse order    
15 Calibrate front 360° camera using the diagnostic system Model 217
with code 501 (360° camera)
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
INSPECT Check     
16 Switch on active parking assist and check whether active parking assist is ready for operation IMPORTANT Active Parking Assist automatically performs a self-test and the operational readiness is shown via the warning display.
