	Risk of burn injuries,  suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.	Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone.	AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
	Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts	Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts. Deburr repair panels.	AS00.00-Z-0017-01A

	Remove/install
1.1	Remove underfloor paneling at left and right side.	Engine 279 in model 223 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)	AR61.30-P-1001S
1.2	Remove center floor armoring and rear floor armoring.	Engine 279 in model 223 with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
			AR61.40-P-1001S
2	Unscrew screws (7.1) and remove center strut (7).	Screw, Center tunnel strut to body	*BA61.10-P-1001-01P
3	Remove heat shields (3).	Engine 279 in model 223 with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
4	Unscrew screws (2.1) and remove rear strut (2)	Screw, Rear tunnel strut/Diagonal Strut to body/Rear floor	*BA61.10-P-1002-01P
5	Remove clamps (4).	Replace clamps (4).
		Clamp, center exhaust line to rear exhaust line	*BA49.10-P-1018-02Y
6	Remove the clamp (5).	Replace the clamp (5).
		Clamp, rear left exhaust line to rear right exhaust line	*BA49.10-P-1020-02Y
7	Support left rear muffler (1) using a major assembly mount.

	000 588 24 62 00 Major assembly mount		WS01.00-P-0253B
8	Remove elastomer bearings (6) from the left rear muffler (1).	Wet elastomer bearings (6) with lubricant.
		Antifriction paste, rubber parts 2.5 kg, DBL 6867.00	*BR00.45-Z-1002-06A
9	Remove left rear muffler (1) from the major assembly mount.	Aid of helper required.
10	Remove combustion and corrosion residues from connecting points and flange connections.
	Check
11	Check elastomer bearings (6) for damage.	If there is a problem, ↓ replace corresponding elastomer bearing (6).
12	Install in the reverse order.
	Check
13	Check installation position and unobstructed movement of the left rear muffler (1).	If there is a problem, ↓ Align left rear muffler (1).
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
14	Perform engine test run and check exhaust system for leak tightness.
