Remove/Install Vacuum Pump - AR43.05-P-1320SC

WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove heat shield from exhaust gas turbocharger.   AR09.40-P-6044SC
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.  
2 Remove engine lifting lug at rear right.   AR01.20-P-5012-02SC
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, heat shield/rear lifting eye to cylinder head *BA01.30-P-1003-01N 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
3 Remove lambda sensor (G3/6).   AR07.04-P-0084SC
4 Remove heat shield (10), detach vacuum lines (3, 4) from vacuum pump (9) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
5 Remove bolts (5) and remove heat shield (6). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, heat shield to vacuum pump *BA43.05-P-1003-01O 
6 Remove bolts (7) and remove vacuum pump (9). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace seal.
IMPORTANT Note installation position of drive plate.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, vacuum pump to cylinder head *BA43.05-P-1001-01O 
7 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
8 Perform engine test run; in this connection, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
