Remove/Install Steering Column Switch Module - AR54.25-P-2812S

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Turn steering wheel to center position. IMPORTANT The front wheels must be in the straight-ahead position.  
2 Move steering wheel all the way to the rear.    
3 Remove steering wheel.   AR46.10-P-0100S
4 Unclip covers (1, 2, 3) far enough until electrical connector (4) is exposed. SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 1
5 Release and disconnect electrical connector (4).    
6 Detach steering column tube module control unit (N80) from steering column tube (5). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT When the steering column tube module control unit (N80) is correctly installed, the safety springs (6) at the steering column tube
(5) lock.
 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT When installing a new steering column tube module control unit (N80), the transport protection (10) must be broken off after installation.  
7 Remove locking clip (7) from electrical connector (8) with suitable tool. IMPORTANT The locking clip (7) is destroyed and must be replaced.  
    Retaining clip for steering column tube module plug *BR00.45-Z-1015-12A 
8 Release and disconnect electrical connector (8).    
9 Release guide (9) and remove with electrical connector (8).    
10 Unclip instrument panel cover (3) from steering column tube module control unit (N80). SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 1
11 Remove steering column tube module control unit (N80).    
12 Install in the reverse order.    
13 Carry out commissioning of steering column tube module control unit (N80). When replacing steering column tube module control unit (N80).
