Remove/Install Driver Airbag On Steering Wheel - AR91.60-S-0663E

Model 447, 448 

with code XM7 (MOPF II)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Turn steering wheel (2) to center position. IMPORTANT The wheels must be in the straight-ahead position.  
2 Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery.   AR54.10-S-0003E
3 Punch through access opening (arrow A) on steering wheel (2) using a screwdriver. When removing airbag (1) for first time.  
4 Remove airbag (1) from steering wheel (2). IMPORTANT To do so, release retaining clamp (3) (arrow B) using SPECIAL TOOL extraction hook (4) through access opening (arrow A).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The retaining clamp (3) must engage audibly in the catch hooks (5).

5 Remove airbag (1). IMPORTANT For this purpose, release and disconnect electrical connector (6).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure airbag (1) is seated correctly.
 
6 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
7 Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) using vehicle diagnosis system. When replacing airbag (1).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Remove diagnostic system. AD00.00-S-2000-04E
8 Perform function test of horn.
