DANGER Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. AS42.50-Z-0002-01A 
CAUTION Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove respective rear wheel.   AR40.10-S-1100E
2 Remove each brake hose.   AR42.10-S-0025E 
3 Remove cover caps from screws (1).    
4 Unscrew screws (1) and remove brake caliper (2) from brake caliper support (3). IMPORTANT Dispose of screws (1) properly.  
CLEAN Clean     
5 Clean brake caliper (2) and any areas contaminated by escaping brake fluid. Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Brake caliper brush Fig 1
INSPECT Check     
6 Check condition of pistons, cover cap and brake hose of brake caliper (2). If damage is present,

replace brake caliper (2) or brake hose.
If brake caliper (2) is replaced,

replace brake caliper support (3).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, rear floating caliper carrier to semi-trailing arm
*BA42.10-Z-1003-12KOJ 
INSTALLING Install     
7 Screw in new screws (1) and attach brake caliper (2) at brake caliper support (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, floating brake caliper to floating caliper carrier *BA42.10-Z-1002-12KOJ 
8 Fit cover caps for screws (1).    
9 Install brake hose.   AR42.10-S-0025E 
10 Attach rear wheel.   AR40.10-S-1100E
11 Bleed brake system.   AR42.10-S-0010E 
INSPECT Check     
12 Perform brake test on test stand.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Brake test   AP42.00-S-4290E
