Remove/Install Brake Hoses At Rear Axle - AR42.10-S-0025E

DANGER Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. AS42.50-Z-0002-01A 
CAUTION Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Raise vehicle.   AR00.60-S-1000E
2 Unhook brake hose (3). IMPORTANT Model 447, 448
except code XM7 (MOPF II)
Unhook brake hose (3) from holder (4) on semi-trailing arm.
IMPORTANT Model 447, 448
with code XM7 (MOPF II)
Unhook brake hose (3) from holder (5).
 
3 Remove brake hose (3) from brake line (1) and seal connections using suitable stop plugs. NOTES
Seal connections immediately.
The brake fluid reservoir will otherwise drain completely.
IMPORTANT Collect brake fluid which runs out in a suitable container.
SPECIAL TOOL Record plug

4 Remove brake hose (3) from brake caliper (2) and seal connections using suitable stop plugs. NOTES
Seal connections immediately.
Otherwise, penetrating dirt can damage the brake caliper (2).

5 Clean brake caliper (2) and any areas soiled by escaping brake fluid. Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
INSPECT Check     
6 Check brake hose (3) for damage. If damage exists,

replace brake hose (3).
 
INSTALLING Install     
7 Remove stop plugs and install brake hose (3) on brake caliper (2). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Brake hose to brake caliper *BA42.10-Z-1001-04KOD 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 1
8 Remove stop plugs and attach brake hose (3) to brake line (1). IMPORTANT Do not twist brake hose (3) when fitting it.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Retaining screw, brake line to brake hose

9 Hook in brake hose (3). IMPORTANT Model 447, 448

Hook brake hose (3) into holder (4) on semi-trailing arm.
IMPORTANT Model 447, 448
with code XM7 (MOPF II)
Hook brake hose (3) into holder (5).
 
10 Lower vehicle.   AR00.60-S-1000E
11 Bleed brake system.   AR42.10-S-0010E
