Remove/Install Sliding Door Lock Actuation - AR72.16-S-4040E

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1.1 Remove fuse 74 on left electric sliding door Model 447.7/8, 448.8 with code T56 (Electric operation of sliding door on left)
When removing left door lock actuation (2).
 
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Assignment of right footwell firewall fuse and relay module   GF54.15-S-1256-39TRA
1.2 Remove fuse 311 on right electric sliding door Model 447.7/8, 448 with code T55 (Electric operation of sliding door on right)
When removing right door lock actuation (2).
 
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Assignment of fuse and relay module, right A-pillar   GF54.15-S-1256-38TRA
2 Remove inner paneling from window frame on sliding door Model 447.7, 448.7 with code V23 (Interior trim, premium version)
Model 447.8, 448.8

3.1 Remove sliding door panel Model 447.7, 448.7 with code V23 (Interior trim, premium version)
Model 447.8, 448.8
AR72.16-S-6610E 
3.2 Remove covers (9, 10) Model 447.6
Model 447.7, 448.7 except code V23 (Interior trim, premium version)
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that covers (9, 10) are seated correctly.
SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge

4 Detach door foil (4) in front area of sliding door as shown Model 447.7/8, 448.8 with code T56 (Electric operation of sliding door on left)
Model 447.7/8, 448 with code T55 (Electric operation of sliding door on right)
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that door foil (4) is seated correctly.
 
5 Disconnect electrical connection (5) Model 447.7/8, 448.8 with code T56 (Electric operation of sliding door on left)
Model 447.7/8, 448 with code T55 (Electric operation of sliding door on right)
 
6 Loosen electrical controller unit from sliding door IMPORTANT It is necessary to loosen the electrical controller unit to create the required space to perform the follow-up work.
IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrical connectors. Do not unhook cables.

7 Remove screw/bolts (1)    
8 Move door lock actuation (2) out of sliding door in direction of arrow and remove until cable (3) is accessible NOTES Carefully remove door lock actuation (2). Otherwise the trim ring (13) on the release button (6) can be damaged.  
9 Unhook cable (3)    
10 Move lock ring (7) in direction of arrow (arrow A)    
11 Open catch by pressing the catch hook (12) together in the lower area (arrows B) and remove cable (8) together with release button (6) from trim ring (13) in direction of arrow (arrow C) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that catch hook (12) arrests into the trim ring (13) in the intended cutouts on both sides.  
12 Remove door lock actuation (2)    
13 Drill ø 4.2 mm bore for pin (11) on door lock actuation (2) Model 447.7 with code ZH6 (Marco Polo ACTIVITY)
When replacing door lock actuation (2).
NOTES Drill carefully. Otherwise components of the door lock actuation (2) can be damaged.
IMPORTANT Dimension (A): 35 mm
Dimension (B): 155 mm
Dimensions (A, B) measured at an angle of 90° from outer edges of door lock actuation (2).
 
14 Install pins (11) with blind rivets on door lock actuation (2) Model 447.7 with code ZH6 (Marco Polo ACTIVITY)
When replacing door lock actuation (2).
 
15 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
16 Check door lock actuation (2) for proper function
