Antitheft alarm system (ATA [EDW]), general
The ATA monitors all relevant inputs after locking the vehicle with the central locking (CL). If a change of status is detected at one of the monitored inputs, an acoustic and visual alarm is given. FZ5The acoustic alarm signals on vehicles with CODE FY1 (theft protection package), are output via the alarm siren and on vehicles with code () Anti-theft alarm system via left horn. The visual alarm signals are output by the turn signals. In addition the interior illumination is switched on.
The signal acquisition and actuation control unit (SAM) has the master function on vehicles with CODE FZ5 (Antitheft alarm system) for the ATA. On vehicles with CODE FY1 (Theft protection package), the signal acquisition and actuation control unit (SAM) and the antitheft alarm system control unit (ATA) share the master function.
The ATA [EDW], when armed, monitors:
- Doors
- Liftgate
- Engine hood
- Position change of vehicle (tow-away protection)
- Motion in vehicle interior (protection) (with CODE FY1 (Theft protection))
