REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install
1 Remove front left or right wheel and tire assembly.   AR40.10-P-1102ME
2 Transfer the pneumatic pressure of suspension strut (1) into the central reservoir using the diagnostic system. Model 167 with code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension)
except code 490 (Electrohydraulic suspension)

REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   NOTES The complete wheels must not touch the AD00.00-P-2000-06ME
    ground.
Otherwise the suspension struts (1) can be predamaged and subsequently malfunction.

IMPORTANT Select menu item "Actuations" in active suspension and damping system control unit.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer pneumatic pressure out of the central reservoir into suspension strut (1) using the diagnostic system.
3 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).
4 Open hood and remove covers over suspension strut (1) at top.
5 Detach pneumatic pressure line (2) from suspension strut (1) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. Model 167 with code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension)
except code 490 (Electrohydraulic suspension)
NOTES Do not stretch, crush or kink pneumatic pressure line (2).
This will result in damage to pneumatic pressure line (2) and can impair its function.

IMPORTANT Before beginning repair work, clean the area around the pneumatic pressure line connections. Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.
