| 1 | Deactivate easy entry and exit feature for steering wheel. | ||
| 2 | Turn wheel and tire assembly of front axle to place with holding s device | Do not turn steering wheel with steering coupling removed. Otherwise the clock spring contact will be destroyed. |

| 7 | Unclip circuit 30 electric line (4) from bracket (5). | ||

| 10 | Disconnect circuit 30 electric line (4) from starter (M1). | ||
| 11 | Disconnect circuit 50 electric line (3) from starter (M1). | ||

| 13 | Unscrew screw (8). | *BA00.10-P-1002-04A | |
| 14 | Lift bracket (5) and remove screws (6). | *BA15.30-P-1001-01T | |
| 15 | Remove starter (M1) downward. | ||
| 16 | Check pinion of the starter (M1) for wear and damage. | When reusing the starter (M1). If wear or damage occurs ↓ Replace starter (M1). |

| 17 | Remove front lower engine compartment lining. | If the starter drive pinion is damaged. | AR61.20-P-1105FRX |
| 18 | Turn engine at center bolt of the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation and check starter ring gear on the flywheel for wear and damage. | If the starter drive pinion is damaged. If wear or damage occurs ↓ Replace flywheel. |
